Why Summit
Why Summit?
Summit sources, acquires and sustainably manages timberland investments that meet the needs of our clients.

We can do this successfully for investors because at Summit we are:

  • Proven –since its inception in 2005, Summit has earned above market returns for investors. Prior to the company's formation, the Summit forestry team out performed market indicies over multipal decades and cycles.
  • Experienced – our company is comprised of veteran investors and managers with significant track records in timberland investments, management, and forestry.
  • Connected – through our combined experiences, we have found "under the radar" properties, which are typically acquired less.
  • Independent – we are an independent, privately-held company created exclusively to generate superior investment results for our clients.
  • Co-invested – Summit's principals have made a significant financial commitment to timberland and expect to continue to invest with our partners in future forestry acquisitions.
  • Entrepreneurial – we have a high energy, enthusiastic approach to our business and seek mutually beneficial, long-term relationships with our clients and partners.

Track Record
Summit’s team members have strong track records from previous experiences at TIMOs, banks and other organizations.

Since January 1, 2006, Summit has successfully acquired and managed multiple timberland investments for separate accounts. Our clients are high wealth individuals. Summit principals have co-invested with all of them.

The investments are comprised of complimentary acquisition transactions. Summit creates value early in the sourcing stage by identifying smaller adjacent tracts that improve access to an undervalued larger tract.

Summit has a property under contract to be sold in October 2008. Upon closing Summit's investors will earn a nearly 30% levered return on an IRR basis.

Approach

  • Environmentally positive investments
  • Principal protection
  • Superior risk-adjusted returns
  • Long-term growth
  • Current income
  • Inflation hedge
  • Diversification
